About Me
I’m a healthtech startup entrepreneur working to make it as easy as possible for normal people to understand and improve their health and wellness.
My past lives were spent in Asia, about a decade in Tokyo/Yokohama and another three years in Beijing. I’ve worked at Apple (marketing), several Silicon Valley startups including WebTV and uBiome, Microsoft (product development) and elsewhere. I grew up in rural Neillsville, Wisconsin and was educated at Stanford and Wharton. I live near Seattle.
Subscribe to my weekly newsletter Personal Science, for thoughts and ideas for how to use science for personal, rather than professional reasons.
Besides helping startups make great personal science products, I like doing data analysis in R and Python for several years’ worth of my own near-daily microbiome, continuous glucose monitoring, heart rate, sleep, and more.
